For the first time in FIFA World Cup history, the tournament will be hosted by three nations: the United States, Mexico, and Canada. This unprecedented collaboration brings the world's biggest sporting event to North America with:

  • United States hosting 60 matches across 11 cities
  • Mexico hosting 10 matches across 3 cities
  • Canada hosting 10 matches across 2 cities

New Tournament Structure

  • 12 groups of 4 teams (replacing the previous 8 groups of 4)
  • Top 2 teams from each group advance
  • 8 best third-placed teams also progress
  • New Round of 32 knockout stage
  • Total of 104 matches (up from 64 in previous tournaments)

CONCACAF (North/Central America, Caribbean) - 6 spots (including 3 hosts) + 2 playoff spots

OFC (Oceania) - 1 guaranteed spot + 1 playoff spot
